Bressuire is a commune in the Deux-Sèvres department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. It is a subprefecture of the Deux-Sèvres department. It is also the capital of the arrondissement of the same name.

Geography

Bressuire is to the northwest of the Deux-Sèvres department. The city is at about 254 km (158 mi) from Bordeaux, 398 km (247 mi) from Paris, 893 km (555 mi) from Marseille and 490 km (300 mi) from Toulouse.

The commune has an area of 180.6 km2 (69.7 sq mi).[2] Its average altitude is 167 m (548 ft); at the city hall, the altitude is 182 m (597 ft).[3]
