Light Rail Transit (Singapore)
It is the light rail transit systems which was being used in Singapore. It was like a Feeder bus routes, but the main difference from feeder buses was to prevent from traffic jams in the affected areas during peak hours. It was started operation since 6 November 1999 along Bukit Panjang LRT route. And as of 2016, we have three lines with 43 stations.
Overview
As to prevent from traffic jams in the affected areas during peak hours, Land Transport Authority (LTA) has announced to built a light rail system and started construction in 1996 by Bukit Panjang LRT route aligning from Choa Chu Kang and serving areas in Bukit Panjang areas. It was opened on 6 November 1999.
They were also served heavily developed in Sengkang and Punggol areas. In 2000, they also started construction along Sengkang LRT and Punggol LRT, they were in two loops (East and West Loops). Sengkang LRT was opened on 18 January 2003 along East Loop while Sengkang West Loop and Punggol East Loop was opened on 29 January 2005.
There is no more LRT lines being built as of 2008 due to possibly space constraints. The supplementary bus routes will beefed demand on buses when estates do not served LRT routes.

Routes
There are three lines along Singapore LRT's network and across 43 stations and served East and West Loops along Sengkang and Punggol Areas while Bukit Panjang served Single Loop by terminating at Choa Chu Kang MRT/LRT Station
- Bukit Panjang LRT Line, opened on 6 November 1999, served 14 stations by SMRT Trains. Interchanges at Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang.
- Sengkang LRT Line, opened on 18 January 2003, served 14 stations (Sengkang, 8 West and 5 East) by SBS Transit. Interchange at Sengkang
- Punggol LRT Line, opened on 29 January 2005, served 15 stations (Punggol, 7 West and 7 East) by SBS Transit. Interchange at Punggol
