User talk:Belovedfreak
Hello, Belovedfreak, and welcome to the Simple English Wikipedia! I hope you will be happy helping here. You should begin by reading these pages: Wikipedia:Useful, Help:Contents, Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, and how to write Simple English articles. If you want some ideas of which pages to work on, read Wikipedia:Requested articles or the list of wanted pages.
Even though it is a good idea to research an article (like looking at the discussion page) before making large changes, please be bold and try! Any changes you make that are not perfect can be fixed later. We are also working most on core articles and the most common topics until this Wikipedia grows.
If you want to ask a question or talk with other members, you can visit our version of the "village pump" at Wikipedia:Simple talk. Administrators on Wikipedia can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. You should always sign your messages on Talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.
Good luck and happy editing! --Eptalon 14:34, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Categories
[change source]{{BD}} (birth/death) is a helpful template to use for people. For example, a dead person would look like this: {{BD|birth year|death year|Dead, Joe}}. A living person's category would look like this: {{BD|birth year||Living, John}} (with the death year left blank it will place the person in Category:Living people). The template also includes an automatic sort key that will sort the person by Last name, First name on any other categories they are in. Hope this helps! · Tygartl1·talk· 14:51, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- In a case like Category:Australian actors where it is made by mistake, you can mark it with a {{QD}} tag, like this: {{QD|reason}}, replacing the word "reason" with the reason you would like the page deleted. Thanks. · Tygartl1·talk·

Flooding
[change source]Hey. I'm not sure if you know, but admins can now grant the "Flood" flag to any user. If you are going to be making many small edits to many different articles, you can request the flag so as not to flood Special:RecentChanges. This is optional, but just letting you know if you hadn't heard. EhJJTALK 18:20, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Cleanup and recent changes.
[change source]BelovedFreak u unlinked my dates. and Cleaned-up Requiem for a dream. i appreciate that yes u didn't have to do that. --Huik01 (talk) 15:06, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
- That's ok, Wikipedia is a project everyone can elp each other with. I unlinked the dates because I didn't think that they made the articles any easier to understand, or more interesting. In Wikipedia:Manual of Style, it says "It is not necessary to add wikilinks to all dates, like this: "25 March 2004" or "February 10"). Only add a wikilink if you think the reader will find useful information at the date-related article you have linked to." Regards, --Belovedfreak (talk) 15:10, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
- Cool. --Huik01 (talk) 15:23, 27 December 2009 (UTC)
