December talking meme 2023

silveredeyeIt's time for the annual December talking meme. A bit later than the previous years, but hey, December is not yet here.
Pick a date and give me a topic. I will write at least 100 words on it. Or pick several topics or leave the exact date up to me. (I will admit that I usually run out of steam at the very end of the month, so you may want to consider that when picking the date. :P)
"A topic" can also be one of the following: a drabble/ficlet prompt, making me pick the year's best X (or my top 3/5/etc X), a request for rec(s) or just something you've wanted to know about me. If I feel it's too personal I'll just access-lock it or say I can't answer even under lock, no problem.
Like I said last year: I really enjoy semi-scheduled excuses to talk in December.
