[On a pleasant day like today what better way to spend your time than to sit in the battle dome chambers with a bunch of medicinal supplies taken from the vending machines and a simulated, worn out looking classroom complete with bunsen burners, test tubes and other small containers and measuring instruments? There is no better use of time than this.

Whilst Yukio would have preferred to take these potions, little candy things and whatever else home with him to mess around with that was proving a little difficult seeing as whatever he took out the doors decided to up and vanish on him. Kind of a pain really. So instead he had to settle for trying his hand at programming and putting together a classroom scenario. It's not a perfect replication of what should be one of the cram school classrooms back home but it serves its purpose well enough.

About thirty minutes into the simulation he turns to his journal, holding it up to show the desk in front of him with some possibly familiar items sitting on it. Namely two potions (one traditional Final Fantasy style potion, the other being a Pokémon style spray bottle), a pile of red, gummy candy (Tales, Apple Gels), what can only be described as a yellow ball with a crystal on top (Kingdom Hearts, Elixir.), and a collection of berries which were for some reason stocked next to all these other strange items (Star Ocean, Blackberries).]

Could anyone explain to me how these items work? I've exhausted all my methods in trying to find what sort of medicine is being used here but as far as I can tell none of these chemicals are familiar to me. As for the yellow object I have no idea how to use it let alone examine it. Thank you for your time!

[How does spraying something make it feel better? How does eating candy heal your wounds!? Such mysteries.

Once he's done screwing around with these healing items and satisfying his inner pharmacist the Battle Dome will have a rather pleasant apple aroma to it due to the five or so gels Yukio melted down. For science. He's actually hidden some of the melted candy in a phial to see if that might allow him to take the substance with him, but once he's out the door the phial is completely empty. Dang.]

But it's fine. It does look more like a crystal than something you'd drink from.

[The first thing Yukio will notice is that Selphie is lacking several inches of hair but don't ask her how it happened as she's still a bit fuzzy on the details.

She's looking at the items closely when she finds one that's awfully familiar.]

It's some sort of potion I found in the vending machines here, yes. Are you familiar with it?

[He does note she's lacking some hair which raises a few questions. Girl what have you been getting up to. But for now he'll stick to finding out more about the potion.]

Can you bring it closer to the screen? I can't really get a good look at it from that distance.

I imagine they are, given that they seem more like candy than any medicine I've seen before, even the sweeter stuff they give to children to make it more appealing.

Are those things supposed to be medicine?

Given I found them in a vending machine alongside some more traditional medical supplies I would believe so.

Maybe it was some sort of prank vending machine. You know, some pranksters put in random stuff between the medicine and hoped people would actually use it.

[ Once Yukio walks out of the Battle Dome after all of this he might find a familiar-looking guy sitting near the exit on a large rock, casually and all - as if he didn't mean to be here, it's not like he walked all the way here once he saw the message on the journals, okay. It's not like he wanted to talk this over with this guy at least once after that weird thing that happened over a month ago, don't get him wrong.

Natsuno is clearly just sitting here for no reason. Just staring at the surroundings. That's all. He's not even paying attention to the other boy!! ]

...The spray one's called a Potion. You spray it on a Pokémon's wounds to heal them.

[And then the gummy ones are... gels, right? That's what they're called? That's not his expertise though, so he'll keep quiet on that one.]

I see, thank you. [So it has the same name as the FF potion, only it works for Pokémon. Good to know.]

Would you know what goes into a potion like this? As far as I know the only items remotely similar to this are antiseptic and antibiotic sprays. [And even then they don't instantly heal wounds so much as they fight off infection.]

That's certainly quite an array of healing items. When it comes down to the basics, they do the job of normal healing arts, save in a condensed, easy to carry form if you don't have an experienced healer with you. Some of them are health restorative; if you're tired they can stimulate your adrenaline, or encourage your body to heal itself faster at a rate that can restore light wounds within minutes. Some of the items are more powerful than others.

I had already gathered some of these items here are more potent than others. Considering most of these are referred to as 'potions' and aren't familiar to me in the slightest perhaps I should have expected some sort of otherworldly effects like healing wounds in a matter of minutes just from drinking something like this.

[At some point, Yukio's operations attract the attention of a certain scientist, hanging around the Battle Dome after his volunteer work. He peers into the chamber multiple times, curious about the work but unwilling to interrupt.

Finally, however, he pulls out his own journal to get a better view of what the person inside is up to.]
