Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty has been a pioneering force in the fintech world, and at Global Fintech Institute’s Networking and Appreciation Night, we were delighted to honor him as an Honorary #CFtP Fellow. As the Chief FinTech Officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Mr. Sopnendu has spearheaded transformative initiatives that have positioned Singapore as a global leader in fintech. By championing public infrastructure and forward-thinking policies, he has not only driven innovation but also cultivated a dynamic ecosystem that supports startups, scale-ups, and global players alike. Looking ahead, Mr. Sopnendu will transition into a new chapter of leadership as the CEO of the Global FinTech Network (GFTN), established by MAS, beginning February 1st, 2025. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐨ğ𝐚𝐳𝐢ç𝐢 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲   We are excited to announce a new partnership between Global FinTech Institute (GFI) and Boğaziçi University in Turkey, aimed at fostering international cooperation in education, research, and training within the fintech sector.   As part of this collaboration, GFI will work closely with Bogazici University to launch the Chartered Fintech Associate (#CFtA) Certification programme, building on our existing relationship with Bogazici University’s Lifelong Learning Center (BÜYEM) and Center for Applied Research in Finance (CARF). This new entry-level certification will provide professionals with foundational fintech expertise, serving as a pathway to the advanced Chartered Fintech Professional (#CFtP) certification.   Together, GFI and Bogazici University will promote the CFtA qualification to fintech, blockchain, and digital assets companies in Turkey, advocating for its recognition as a global professional qualification by industry and regulatory bodies. At the today's Blockchain Security Alliance Leadership Forum by SUSS NiFT Blockchain Security Alliance, ZOLOZ and Alibaba Cloud, Global FinTech Institute was represented by our Founding Chairman, David LEE Kuo Chuen 李国权, who joined industry leaders in discussions on the future of blockchain security and the critical role of regulatory compliance in fostering a trusted ecosystem. Global FinTech Institute (GFI) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) , marking a major step in advancing sustainable finance and governance on a global scale. Through this collaboration, GFI and CGS will co-develop a global certification in sustainable finance and governance, equipping professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to lead in these crucial areas. Our joint efforts will also focus on creating content, thought leadership, and training programs to deepen understanding of sustainability, governance, and fintech. We are thrilled to announce a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Banking and Financial Services Union (BFSU), Global FinTech Institute (GFI), and the e2i, Employment & Employability Institute at the GFI Networking & Appreciation Night last week. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in supporting the upskilling and reskilling of Singapore’s finance and fintech workforce, with a shared mission to enhance productivity, workforce welfare, and job opportunities in the sector.   Together, we will provide specialized training programs to help finance and fintech professionals, including PMEs, build essential skills and access career support. Our partnership will also offer resources to help fintech companies advance their digital transformation efforts, promoting innovation across the industry. 𝐆𝐅𝐈 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐇𝐮𝐛 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐪𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚   Global Fintech Institute (GFI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic partnership with the Yuzhong District of Chongqing Municipality (represented by the Industrial Development Bureau, Yuzhong District, Chongqing Municipality, China) and Chongqing China-Singapore Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Think Tank (CCITT) to establish GFI’s third China Hub in Chongqing.    The new hub will serve as a key center for fostering fintech innovation, knowledge exchange, professional development, and more importantly,  strengthening our growing network and impact in China. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring to support the fintech ecosystem in Chongqing, China.   This is another milestone in GFI’s ongoing mission to build a global network that connects fintech talent, innovators, and opportunities.
