(hit L key) On May 10, 1869 a special ceremony took place in Promontory, Utah, USA where two railroads met that completed a track that went from the Atlantic Ocean on the east to the Pacific ocean on the west. A span of approximately 3000 miles. This engine is an exact full size and fully functioning duplicate of one of the engines that met on that occasion. Today it was again going to the same location, approximately 200 yards from where this photo was taken…
