Ali Shariq Imran obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Oslo (UiO), Norway, in 2013 and his Master's in Software Engineering and Computing from the National University of Science & Technology (NUST), Pakistan, in 2008. He specializes in applied research with a focus on deep learning technology and its application in signal processing, computer vision, natural language processing, multimodality media analysis, and the semantic web. He has over 70 peer-reviewed journals and conference publications to his name and has served as a reviewer for many reputed journals over the years. He is currently associated with the Colour and Visual Computing Laboratory (ColorLab) at the Department of Computer Science (IDI), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, as an Associate Professor.
