Dr. Almagul Kushugulova is a Head of the Microbiome Laboratory, Center for Life Sciences, National Laboratory Astana, Nazarbayev University. She received her MD degree and Ph.D. degree in Microbiology from the Akmola State Medical Institute in 1996 and 2000, respectively. She is a member of the International Human Microbiome Consortium, Academic Society for Functional Foods and Bioactive Compounds, British Society of Aging Medicine, ReGenera Research Group for Aging-Intervention, Kazakhstan Association of Human Microbiome Researchers, and National Food Technology Platforms of Europe. Her research interests include microbiome, immunity, cytokine profile, probiotics, and functional foods.
