Ramdom Thoughts by Kari
I am currently using an old one of my brothers. We call it the jet because it has so many fans on it, that when they turn on it sounds like one. It in no way refers to the speed of the computer. The computer also has to remain plugged in because it has zero battery power on it's on. Strange for any computer, but especially strange for a laptop. Oh well. At least I CAN look at the Internet.
Matt has also been a pro at ripping out the old flooring. We are currently searching for Pergo to place on the whole main level. There seems to be some debate amongst people if we should use out hardwood, which about 90% of it is in good condition. Unfortunately no one can see the separated wood and DEEPLY gouged under our couch. There is no question for Matt and I. After three and a half years of thinking. We want to go with Pergo until we can really refinish our kitchen. Oh and get rid of our kids. Or rather have them grow up. We also don't have to money to extend the hardwood through the whole level. I have a plan and I'm excited. I have to admit that I really like the hardwood. It is a really pretty color. And so easy to clean.
We are almost done getting Lauren assessed with the intestinal and dietary specialist and the school district. I should save all of that for one whole post. And I think I will. I have a few more appointments to live through though.
Eden thinks that I am her bed. I have a huge problem with that and I am always exhausted. I would like my baby to sleep in her own bed at night. I'm not sure how to get her our without waking Lauren up. Once Lauren is awake in the middle of the night, she is up for hours. Eden thinks I am pretty much the best person ever. Ally was like this as well, but at least Eden will let other people hold her. But then again, Ally would sleep in her bed.
Elijah is going to participate in his FIRST pinewood derby in a couple weeks. He is really excited. The car is almost complete. Thank goodness my dad has power tools and is willing to help. My dad, Matt and Elijah have all worked on this car. It's nice to see them work so hard on it. I just hope he isn't upset if he doesn't win. (I'm not sure who I'm talking about either. ;) )
I finally got a calling at church. They put me on the Relief Society Activities Board. Yes, I thought it sounded pretty much the same too. Except that I'm not in charge. Although that isn't necessarily a bad thing. That should be interesting. I haven't heard a thing about the calling though. That's okay.

Parent-Teacher Confrences
She had a lot of really good things to say about him. He is sweet and an excellent student. He is still a poor handwriter. And he doesn't keep his desk clean. As I contemplate this, I wonder if I should show her his room. We deep clean it quarterly. And I always come out with piles of trash. He's such a good kid, who collects mountains of useless stuff. I feel mean when I tell him NO he can not take ANOTHER box to his room. It needs to stay fairly passable. If he wants my help.
This conference went very well if I do say so myself. I'm sad this school year is nearing the end actually.
Then I dashed off to Ally's conference. At this meeting, I got to meet the student teacher. Miss Russell is going for her ECE endorsement. The teacher went on to tell me that Ally was doing very well. She's quiet, but she gets 100% on all her work.
I think I made a mistake. I told them I wasn't sure how she was doing. My son was an early reader and my preschooler is behind. Where is Ally? Is she okay? The student teacher looked a tad insulted that I clearly didn't see the beauty and talent that was my daughter. She said she's one of the top kids in the class and just perfect.
Perfect?
Really?
I had to pinch myself.
And I've decided...I'm saving Ally for last from now on.
