Busier and Busier

Well as the holiday's approach we find ourselves busier and busier. We are working more and trying to do all the Christmas things we need to do at the same time (buy Christmas gifts, earn more money, buy more Christmas gifts, see the Lord of the Rings, go to Thanksgiving Point, you know; Christmas stuff.)

Highlights of the last few weeks have been numerous. The biggest thing to me was getting Elijah into a big boy bed. We put the top bunk on the bottom so he would still have support railings, but the bed would be big enough for him. It has worked rather well. It is exactly how I thought it would be. Putting the bed together was a major undertaking, mainly because we didn't get all the right parts. It was eventually worked out though. Anyway, Elijah falls asleep in the bed at night, it is his nap that causes trouble. He plays until he sleeps and he have found him in various positions around the room. All of which we take pictures of.

Another favorite thing that has happened was going to see Santa. Now it wasn't my intention for Elijah to see Santa, he just did it himself. I was taking him home from the mall, after my shift was over and Elijah saw Him, and there was no line. He ran up and Santa asked Elijah what he wanted. Elijah pointed to everything he could see, telling Santa in "Elijah-speak" what he wanted. (I am still not sure what he wants, I hope Santa understood.) Then Elijah ran away from Santa just as fast as he ran up... Santa just laughed. What a patient guy.

On Saturday Matt and I had the opportunity to go to the Young Living Annual Christmas Party. We usually don't look forward to these things, but we felt we should go. The kicker was that I had to quickly find a babysitter and Matt had a horrible fever. We went, thinking we would leave soon after (it is a good thing we did because the owner checked everyone to see who had skipped out.) Anyway, they had a hypnotist. It was very funny. The highlight being the guy who was hypnotized into thinking that when he was on stage he needed to be off stage and when he was off stage he needed to be on stage. This other guy was hypnotized to be a bouncer anytime someone acted strangely and hilarity ensued. He also hypnotized the guy who kept hopping on and off stage into believe he was dating someone else and when the hypnotist said another girl had a crush on him (his actual fiancé) he was asked who he would prefer. The girl who he thought he had dated for 6 years or his actual fiancé. The guy jumps up and yells, "I think Cassie is so hot!" (Cassie being the fiancé) and the hypnotist said, "See, I can't make you do anything you would find wrong. This guy made the right choice." It was very funny and interesting.

Now we are all three sick. I guess this is the worst flu in five years or something. So far it hasn't hit me as badly as it has hit others. That isn't saying much though, tomorrow I could have a fever. Don't get me wrong, I feel horrible but I am not completely bed ridden like Matt was. Elijah sleeps a little deeper with the flu though and that is nice. Matt becomes a cuddle bug when he is sick and that is nice too.

Tomorrow we are going to start a Lord of the Rings Trilogy-a-thon with the Johnson's. There a bit of problem getting all of our schedules to work together, but it is only three movies that run over three hours each. How hard could it be to watch them with a toddler and a baby. Ha.

Elijah is talking a lot more and he enjoys jumping on his bed. This is a little nerve-racking to a mom. He just can't seem to help himself. He said, "You help me" and "Baby come" the other day. I still have to blink a bit when I realize I understand what he meant. Very strange.

1.) Anya and Elijah eating Thanksgiving together. They ate it watching "Finding Nemo" and "The Wiggles" This picture was taken right before Anya dumped the plate of yams on her head.
2.) This is Elijah "helping" us put together his bed. He had fun loosing screws and flustering us. He seemed to think of it more of a jungle gym.

3.) A picture of the weirdest place we have found Elijah asleep, clutching his diaper pail. Gross. Good thing he didn't open it.

4.) Elijah's first night in his bed. He has only destroyed the blinds a little. I need to see about fixing those.
Anyway, Enjoy!
