It's getting to the end of the saguaro flower season. Although the flowers are still blooming on this plant, others already have fruit. The green saguaro fruit bursts open to reveal a bright red interior. Fortunately for the plant, the birds and the animals, the fruit tastes wonderful. Lopez - my big Cardon cactus - is having his big bloom of the year - dozens of flowers. Not easy to get pics though since the flowers open in the evening and close in the morning for some sort of night pollinator. The cactus is from Baja/Mexico, so maybe bats or moths. The bees love him here though.
