Forgiving people

I’m one for holding grudges. I like people to know that I’m upset about something. When holding a grudge, I often act like a child; refusing to speak until the other person has apologized and I have deemed it acceptable. They hurt my feelings! I want them to know. I also hold onto past mistakes

Most people think forgiveness means reconciliation. It does NOT mean reconciliation. “Forgiveness should never be denied to anyone. Nevertheless, Be careful who you reconcile with.” “Forgiveness Doesn’t excuse their behavior. Forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying your heart.” Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.💙

Dear Allahﷻ, Allow me to forgive and forget. Let not the weight of these pains turn me into someone You dislike, someone who carries grudges and behaves with harshness. Give me the strength to look past other people’s cruelty, and to have faith in Your justice and generous recompense. Let every bad experience remind me of the importance of being good, so that I am never the source of someone else’s pain.
