At this point they wanted to get away from the flame effect, as it was looking to similar the the torch or other similar fire effects. So here are a selection of some effects i explored for Dark Phoenix's final form, among them trying out effects similar to solar flares and cosmic like look. Also pushing the idea of Jean Grey loosing trace of her humanity.
