Another favorite advert was the series of Creature Comfort adverts which advertised the Electricity Board. The series involved characters such as a tortoise, a cat, a family of penguins and a Brazilian parrot who were in their homes talking to an unseen interviewer behind a large microphone.

I'm not sure who manufactured these, but there's an awesome line of resin figurines available in the U.K. They're based on Aardman's Creature Comforts television series. They're not terribly expensive, but there's enough characters in the line that I tried to prioritize and pick my favorites! Even so - how can you resist an Aardman-ized slug? Recently we discovered a clever cast of disabled cartoon characters who are part of the Creature Discomforts series by the creators of Wallace and Gromit. In England, Aardman Animations teamed up with an advocacy group called Leonard Cheshire Disability to spotlight individuals with physical challenges.
