RDA Resources
The RDA offers additional services.
THREDDS Data Server
THREDDS provides the ability to access portions of full data files over HTTP.
linkData Citation
Data Citations direct readers to a data source referred to within a publication. Part of the citation is a digital object identifier (DOI). It is a permanent and unique label for an Internet-based object and is used in the same way DOIs are used to provide links to a published paper, report, or books. Publication and data citations both appear in formal reference lists. Below we briefly discuss how this is done, why it is important, and citation services available from the Research Data Archive (RDA) at NCAR.
linkNew Dataset Submissions
The RDA specializes in managing atmospheric and climate datasets by providing long-term preservation of and access services for those datasets. We welcome submission requests for data that primarily support the core weather and climate research sponsored by the National Science Foundation. Requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and are evaluated for relevance to existing RDA collections.
linkDataset Metrics
The RDA maintains statistics on data usage, including most popular datasets, general data usage metrics, and dataset citation counts.
linkAncillary Services
The RDA supports additional services and resources including data rescue from legacy 7-track and 9-track tapes, data management, and a NASA GCMD keyword viewer.
linkRDA Documentation
Our documentation page contains information about our dataset management software utilities and descriptions of the RDA data curation process including data ingest, dissemination, and data security and resiliency strategies.
