Regency Day Dress- 40-41 bust - Yellow Checked day dress with white chemisette and convertible sleeves This is an attractive day dress style, straight out of an 1812 fashion plate, ready for dressing up with accessories, plain or fancy! This is a lovely example of everyday fashion. The fabric is washable cotton in a checked pattern with yellow and brown tones on a cream ground. The bodice is short, fitting the look of a regency bustline and would work with early 19th century stays or modern underpinnings. Like the fashion plate, the center front bodice has a crossover V neckline and is shaped and fitted with double front darts. The gown closes with in back with six mother of pearl buttons. Sizing is slightly adjustable by moving the buttons on the back. As in the fashion plate, the dress has sewn-in short, puffed sleeves To give an alternate look to the dress, there is an additional set of long sleeves, which hook and eye into the bodice sleeves inside the short puffed ones. The full skirt is cut with panels and gores, slightly longer at the back. The bodice is lined in cotton. Also following the fashion plate, the ensemble comes with a separate white cotton chemisette. The front is decorated with gathered lace, with a double row of gathered Alencon lace at the high neckline. The chemisette is sleeveless and fastens in front with ties at the neck and waist.
