Victorian Austro-Hungarian Sterling Silver Vermeil Obsidian Necklace

Victorian Era Austro-Hungarian necklace. The necklace is not stamped but is sterling silver with a gold wash. The gemstones are believed to be obsidian. There are five stations with seven faceted gemstones and three rows of gemstone-mounted links. The centerpiece is a drop with the three rows of links and another station with three pear-shaped gemstone dangles. The necklace features a concealed box catch closure with the ornate design of the whole necklace and five gemstones mounted to the topside. The necklace is choker/collar length. Condition is excellent. This stunning necklace is from my mother's estate. She enjoyed collecting fine antique jewelry. This piece was purchased from The Pristine Peacock, a now-closed San Antonio jewelry store that specialized in antique jewelry. This piece was appraised in 2015 for $1,145.
