String succulents have such an elegance to them. There are several varieties of trailing or hanging succulents. Some of our favorites are Senecio Rowleyanus (String of Pearls), Senecio Herreianus (String of Beads), Senecio Radicans (String of Bananas) and Fish Hook Senecio. String Succulents like bright indirect light, if they’re outdoors they like shaded areas with some morning direct light or bright indirect light. Indoor they like to be near the window with strong natural light.

Did you know that the String of pearls is popular among gardeners because of its gorgeous, pearl-like leaves that hang like a curtain of beads? Other growers consider this outdoor plant low-maintenance since it doesn’t require much watering, and thrives with neglect in some countries with less monsoon season or dry climates.

Care free growth habit. This pretty succulent plant will sprawl over the edges of pots or hangers and resembles a beaded necklace with its fleshy, green, pea like foliage. Water sparingly once a fortnight (over watering will increase the chances of root rot). Prefers bright light.
