Honored to do some package art for Creative beast studio's Beasts of the Mesozoic Tyrannosaur series of action figures. As a fan of the previous lines (raptors and ceratopsids) this is great experience for me. I have another piece in the works, I will post it here soon once published.

The Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) also known as Whalehead or Shoe-billed Stork, is a very large stork-like bird. It derives its name from its massive shoe-shaped bill. It lives in tropical east Africa in large swamps from Sudan to Zambia.

_Sinovenator changii_ was a little troodontid theropod from the Early Cretaceous of China. This very owly painting of it is totally not copied from a href=assets/webb_owl.jpgthis 1856 painting/a by William James Webbe.

Argentavis magnificens, a species of teratornithid bird from Miocene Argentina. With an estimated wingspan between 5.5 and 6.5 m. this was one of the largest birds ever. It stood about 1.5 m. tall.

Description Here's an illustration I did of the giant phorusrhacid Kelenken guillermoi. I limited myself to a day for this piece, which I find helps me to improve my workflow as I can't get bogged down on little details. Hope youse all enjoy!

Extinct Phorusrhacos longissimus was a giant flightless terror bird that lived in Miocene Patagonia. It stood about 8 ft tall and weighed approximately 290 lbs. It’s large hook-tipped beak and strong claws indicate they were carnivorous. (by Antarctic Spring)
