I tried so hard to get Axis & Allies working in Lutris on Bazzite and couldn’t. Tried using the disc’s directly. Tried ripping the disc’s to iso and mounting.

I think I kept getting stuck at how to go from the install disc to play disc during installation. I wanna say I eventually got that sorted, but it was very obtuse, and then got the game to boot but it stuck or froze somewhere or something. Been a while.

I did get Hover! working which was great. It was a very fun game for its time. It seemed to work flawlessly once it worked.

I like the ease of use and services Steam provides. The easy installs/reinstalls, cloud saves, the custom Notes are very useful for me, the library organization, some steam workshop stuff, the community hubs for games are fun shared content, the guides, the discussions, the reviews. All of it makes a nice experience. In general it’s also cheaper than console. Then they made Steam Deck which is possibly my fav console ever.

I know people involved in some of these unions. They still fight for federal workers and are successful at times in assisting them with so many other things. They negotiate contracts (like collective bargaining agreements) and seek more fair workplace practices, they represent workers in disputes, they scrutinize HR and administrative practices, and they bring lawsuits in federal courts.

Yes, they don’t have the teeth of large strikes, but it’s still helping them in the sense of banding together and pooling resources. Of course, this fucking piece of shit administration has just unilaterally taken away a lot of things and exposed a lot of the flaws in the system. From what I know, morale is in the shitter for most normal, everyday, civilian federal workers who simply wanted to provide a good public service and pay their bills.

Note that I think it being illegal to strike is fundamentally un-constitutional and un-American. But hey, not much of the U.S. is how we feel it should be.

Before Amazon were malls, before that, the big stores came along like shopko, Walmart, etc. which still persist. But of you go back far enough you get “Department” stores, mainly in the big cities 100 years ago.

Most are doing their best to focus on the actual public service mission and tune out and navigate the shitpile that voters put on their shoulders. Most just wanted to do a good job and help people.

Coming from a similar background, just know, you deserve your own security, including mentally. You did nothing wrong. You are enough. And most importantly, the good times don’t mean the bad abusive times are okay. Abuse can be physical, verbal, emotional, mental, and lots of blame, shame, and neglect can be abuse.

Treating someone okay sometimes doesn’t justify treating them badly. It is your parents responsibility to raise you too. You had no choice in the matter. It’s okay to explain the story to you, but not to expect you to essentially worship what they did. They chose to have a baby, they need to raise you. There’s no gold medals for doing that expectation aside from the joy of seeing your child become a wonderful human.

Regarding the abuse, including the confusing instability of behavior towards you, don’t let it turn into a bad habit where you constantly feel the need to cling to someone. The abuse and neglect and confusion can make relationships difficult, and may cause you to overthink them later in life and worry about things that harm your future relationships.

Try to center yourself and meditate on how you feel, allow your thoughts time they need to process, and try to truly feel how your body feels.
