The function explorer in fact allows you to check on other functions too, out of the widget. It is indeed meant as a widget to explore functions. If there are no more feedback on this, I would close this as invalid.
Added max length validation for label/name and description. For now its set to a bit higher value to be backwards compatible. We might change that later on. Ticket T353177 is for enforcing it in the Frontend.
Length limit enforced in the UX. In ticket T353177 I did the PHP part.
