Not a problem in the work in progress refresh of the Vector skin so I'm closing.

We're using flex box in some places inside https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Desktop_improvements, closing this ticket as I don't see anything actionable here.

The footer is no longer a problem on mobile screens given the menus are now moved to the top and can be hidden.

This is addressed as part of https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Desktop_improvements. You can test it out by https://en.wikipedia.org/?useskinversion=2&useskin=vector and opt into it via preferences.

This has been effectively addressed with T258290: Allow Skins to register themselves as "responsive", but only for Desktop Improvements (Vector 2022) Vector (legacy skin): T242772: Remove $wgVectorResponsive from legacy mode.

Resolving. MediaWiki Skin:Vector has been updated documenting the change.

The only wikimedia wiki I know that's using this flag (test.wikipedia.org) already defaults to the next skin.

FWIW We currently do not support Vector on mobile devices (hence the mobile site) so we are unlikely to look into this. However, this may change after https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Desktop_improvements

This was recently proposed at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_(proposals)#Log_out_second_chance. My reading of the consensus so far from here and there is that there is more support than opposition.

New Vector version we're working on will handle this and hopefully help us work out how to merge the responsive code into it.
