This is a tag for tasks that set major long-term goals for developing how Wikimedia projects function in various languages, or for tasks that are important blockers on the way to achieving these major goals. It exists to organize the language strategist's work better, and to provide transparency for people who are interested in this work. As of late 2018, it is primarily curated by @Amire80.
Unlike I18n, which is a tag for all kinds of internationalization tasks, of which there are more than a 1000, this tag is planned for relatively limited use—probably several dozens of tasks.
