ISA is a tool that helps to describe / tag sets of images on Wikimedia Commons in an easy way, for instance images contributed to Wiki Loves competitions.

Developed as a StructuredDataOnCommons GLAM pilot project.

MILESTONES

1. Initial Test Version

First version with all core functionality operational. This is intended to be used primarily for testing and feedback by the core ISA team and a small number of potential users of the app.

• Server setup, application routes, ToolForge deployment and other background infrastructure tasks
• Database models for storing Campaigns, Users and Contributions
• T220817: Implement OAuth for Isa
• All pages with elements shown in the mock screenshots added to the UI, but exact style matching not required and some options visible but not active
• Logged in users can create campaigns, and edit their own campaigns. They can choose categories to work on with a simple comma separated list
• Logged in users can participate in campaigns and cycle through a real list of image files. We only need contributions to be stored within ISA so that the participate page UI can be fully tested for depicts and caption edits:
  • T222231: Implement simple initial version of category contents retrieval
  • T222433: Retrieve individual image data to populate Participate page
  • T222275: Add Wikidata item search for adding depicts statements
  • T223113: Add functionality to save contributions to the database

2. Minimum Viable Product

All features deemed essential completed to the required level to fulfil the app's main purpose. This version will include the following additional features

• T222262: Add depth option for each category selected in Campaign settings
• T222265: Add Country selection based on subcategories for 'Wiki Loves' campaigns
• T222291: Add support for ISA in translatewiki.net
• T222292: Add search box for choosing categories to include in the Campaign settings
• T222303: Add Export Campaign statistics feature
• Change from test to real Wikimedia Commons editing (for live version only, test versions remain linked to test Commons)
• Finalise user interface layout on desktop and mobile after initial feedback and testing

3. Release Version 1.0

This version has as many of the "would be nice" features added as possible, prioritising the most important first. These will be decided once the MVP is nearing completion.
