Is every .blt file a STVElection? If not, we would need to implement all other tallier algorithms as well.

One output format to consider would be something that is accepted by RCVis: https://www.rcvis.com/upload.html
Then we get a very nice set of ways to visualize the results.
Thanks! I'd be delighted to help test this when you have working code.

I'm delighted to see this task. My professional work includes election auditing, and transparency is of the utmost importance in elections.

Can this be re-opened to document ongoing interest within the Wikimedia user community and Wikimedia Foundation for time-zone support via an open-source scheduling app?

@jrbs is right. Our goal of proportional representation is proper, and the math of how you achieve that means that there is no single well-defined ranking of individual candidates. What matters is whether the set of winners does a good job of representing the voters. You can't just replace any member with the results of calculations which already assume they were elected.
The goal of a multi-winner election should be proportional representation. That means that if a candidate who is favored highly enough by some segment of the voters to get elected is found to not be eligible to serve, you don't just pick the next in line. You simply need to re-run the algorithm, after eliminating votes for all the ineligible candidates.
I think this is a bad idea. And the description here seems quite different than the wishlist item.
As a color-blind person, I can't easily distinguish the red color in the proposal by @jrbs, and I'm a bit confused. It looks to me like the color of the text for JSutherland in that example is different from that for ClydeFranklin - but perhaps just because the background is different? What does the background signify? If the red color and the strikethru indications are redundant with each other, it's probably ok.
Thanks.

The recommended download format continues to be JSON as discussed at

Fascinating. Would this be the first wikicite event? I see no notes of previous ones at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikicite

Just to clarify, the prefix that was added is ":tenwiki:", not the original proposal. So an example of a link to a page there would be "[[:tenwiki:Boulder,_Colorado]]"
