Sunkissed! 💜🩷❤️🧡💛 This is my color reduction woodcut print for ART341C with @busybeeprintcompany !! I was only required to do 3 layers but since I'm insane and can never do just the bare minimum, I did five 😎 If I had to guess, I'd say I probably put upwards of 35 hours into this. These two prints by Rosie are good examples of some of the elements of our print-making which were on show at the Gardens Gallery. They are both linocuts made by the reduction method, which allows us to create multi-coloured images from the same block by re-carving it between each layer of differently coloured ink which makes up the finished image. GraceGillespie on Instagram: "Join me for the fairly epic process of this two-layer, twenty-piece, jigsaw-Lino-reduction print! 😅 ~ Not quite sure why I set myself this undoubtedly complicated challenge, but hey-ho, I really wanted to have a go a jigsaw prints (when you cut up the plate) and it seemed far too unadventurous to have just two or three different pieces… so I went for 20! ~ I also wanted to layer the colours, which is when things got a bit complicated. Registering such an unwieldy beast was extremely difficult… I maybe should have included the 20 minutes of fiddling about with the exact placement of each teeny piece in my reel edit, but the insta algorithm (and your brains) would have imploded with the boringness 😂 Anyway, other than the fiddly registration, this was a lot o 3 Colour Reduction Lino Print, Lino Reduction Print, Insta Algorithm, Reduction Lino Print, Reduction Print, Lino Printing, Printmaking Art, Cut Up, Lino Print
