NB15K

Hi there, well this is my running report for NB15K. After a long absence from the long distance race, this is my first race since KLIM05 although the previous ones I have not completed.

6.30am: Reached the parking lot and put on my racing flats. I felt unconfortable on the NB jersey that was provided. I looked like a running Bak Chang on the road!!

6.45am: Reached the starting point. I was looking for PM1 but he is nowhere to be found. As you can see his report, he pangsai 3 times before the race. So i guess that he was still doing his business when I am looking for him. Found Jason, KNN and Tey. We chatted for awhile and I started to do my warm up after that. My knees felt uncomfortable and I was worried that it will turn bad. God damn, not another DNF race..

6.55am: I proceeded to the Kandang Lembu and I started right at the back. In fact I was the last person running!! Ha ha! I just wanted to start slow. I don't want to pia in this race with my current knee.

7.00am: The gun was fired and off we go!! In fact I was standing for around 2 minutes before I can start jogging. It was fun starting from behind. This is my first time starting last and before the uphill even started, there were people walking liao. So I potong sayur one by one.

RACE: Well, I did not time myself as I am not racing for time, just to finish would be sufficient for me. Well, in terms of potong sayur record, PM1 sure kenot beat me wan Ha! Ha! I potong so much sayur until I oso think I am a sayur :p. I changed my running style that day too. I ran forefoot for the whole of 15KM!! As I know that my knees will not hold long, I used this technique and it worked. I did not land heavily on my heels and therefore the illiotibial band wasn't used much. But the downside is that my calves were hurting so much. In fact if it wasn't for the cramp on my calves, I would have ran a better time.

I came in at 1Hr 28Mins and to me it is a great achievement. I had finished a race at last!! HA HA!!

Not Running

Aiyo, I have been working 14hrs a day non stop for the second week liao.. Most of the time I would only be finishing my work by around 10pm. Anyway, have manage to get a room in JB and to tell you, it is damn expensive here. I had to pay for RM300 to get a furnished room without any aircon. However, i got lucky this time as i manage to rent a 'house' at RM300!! Ha! Ha! Well, I met this tenant and their intention was that they want to rent the house out and have someone looking after it. It is a fully furnished house with TV and other amenities and the good thing is that I am living alone at this current moment!! I can have the whole house by myself!! There is also a long stretch of route that is suitable for running and I will be moving in June. The sad thing is that I had not trained at all for the 2 weeks and now I am faced with the problem of completing the NB15K...

The new place

Hi guys,

I had got a new job in JB and I had just moved down since monday. Well, trying to settle down here and I had not found an actual place to stay into. Currently staying at my friends house and plan to rent a house together with several other people. Well, that can only happen in june and hope that I can truly settle in by that time. Anyway, this place is great although the living standards are no different from KL. However, the good thing is that I am living in a house 5 minutes away from the beach which I can see singapore clearly. The night scene is wonderful and I will be posting pictures soon. As for a new running route, I am still searching for one. It is difficult to run here as there are a lot of cars moving around and I would like to have a quiet street to run. Wish me luck!
