Ryan Sutter says he and wife Trista are trying to ‘do our best’ following her cryptic absence

Ryan Sutter and his wife, Trista, are doing their “best” amid concerns of trouble in paradise following the latter’s mysterious absence.

On Wednesday, the former reality TV star, 49, shared a lengthy message about the important things in life alongside a black-and-white photo of the couple sitting on the beach.

“We do our best – to do and to be good, to live and to treat others well,” he wrote on Instagram.

“We make decisions not knowing the outcome but hoping we’re on the right path – hoping the questions will be answered in time,” he continued. “We try to be a positive example, to care, to trust the process and to believe others will trust our intent is not malicious or misguided or mean.”

Ryan — who met Trista, 51, on the inaugural season of “The Bachelorette” — said they try to “live towards a purpose” by building “meaningful relationships.”

“We do our best to remain easy in a difficult world, to be honest in deceitful times and to be open when it’s safer to stay closed,” he continued.

While he admitted that seeking “balance” can sometimes be an uphill battle, other times they “land in just the right spot.”

“Sometimes there are moments, moments like this one, in which we get a glimpse of just how beautiful life can be – how beautiful it is when we take time to appreciate the places and the people in them,” he continued. “To appreciate what and who we love most.”

“They are always out there – these moments – though not always easy to find. But we do our best….”

The sentimental post came just a few days after Ryan gushed about how happy he was to have his wife home following her secretive trip.

“They say absence makes the heart grow fonder…. We found out it’s true,” he wrote alongside an image of the pair with their children, Maxwell, 16, and Blakesley, 15.

“It also makes the heart more grateful, more sympathetic, more appreciative for what someone does for you, with you, alongside of you,” he continued.

Although he was thrilled to be reunited with Trista, he admitted her absence “brought time for reflection, for projects, prayer and independence.”

“But mostly it brought joy at its conclusion,” he added. “Real joy. And that’s really what it’s all about…”

Ryan raised eyebrows earlier this month after telling his Instagram followers he was unable to contact Trista and missed her dearly.

Then in a cryptic Mother’s Day post, the former reality TV star revealed she was spending the day away from him and their children.

Despite growing concern for their marriage, Ryan continued to post cryptic messages about missing his wife online.

“I really wish I could talk to you. Ask you how you’re doing? How was your day. I’d really like to hear your voice – just for a minute,” he wrote on Instagram on May 17.

“So many times I’ve called without much to say, not realizing how lucky I was or how much I’d miss the opportunity if it were gone.”

However, a few days later, Ryan finally addressed the split speculation, telling his followers everything was “fine.”

“Trista is fine. We are fine. We’re great,” he wrote.

“Trista is at a place in life where she is searching a bit. An opportunity presented itself that may help her on that quest,” he continued. “With her family’s support, she has taken it. Part of that process means that she is temporarily inaccessible to us.”

Over the weekend, Trista finally addressed the chatter herself, joking, “Geez people. Can’t a girl have a nervous breakdown/trial separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace around here?! 😜🤣”

“In all seriousness, for those concerned, I’m safe and sound, happy and healthy, in love and grateful 🥰,” she wrote on Instagram.

The former “Bachelorette” explained that “an opportunity for perspective and personal growth presented itself” and she took it.
