Janet Paterson Frame was a writer from New Zealand. Using her own life as inspiration, she wrote a lot about mental illness, and, well, madness. Uncomfortable, brilliant writing.
She was born in Dunedin, raised in Oamaru and educated at Dunedin Teachers' Training College and Otago University. She is one of New Zealand's most acclaimed writers.
