Who Am I?
When I was a young wife my husband died. The days, weeks, and months after that event were dark and difficult. A few years later I lost my oldest son.
Through both tragedies, books were my salvation. I immersed myself in other times and places, with different people. I went through hundreds of books and discovered that I didn’t want to read non-fiction, biographies, or those dour tomes labeled literary books. I wanted books where people were guaranteed a happy ending.
I’ve never forgotten how important that escape was for me.
What I want to offer you is a way to put the world on hold for a few hours or days. You’ll meet people who might be suffering or have suffered. They might be foolish or just stupid. They might have too much pride or too little courage. Through the course of a book they have to earn their happy ending but they’ll get it.
When you finish the book, I hope you sigh in satisfaction, feel refreshed, and more capable of taking on your own world.
