Jim Stolley, the chief counsel for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota, has left as government prosecutors grapple with a crush of cases.

The top lawyer for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Minnesota left the agency in recent days, exiting as a crush of litigation stemming from the immigration crackdown in the state has overwhelmed the court system.

The lawyer, Jim Stolley, the outgoing chief counsel for ICE in the state, has not publicly addressed the circumstances of his departure. Starting this week, emails sent to his government account generated an automated response noting that he had “retired from public service.” ....

A Missouri cattle farmer is facing financial ruin after the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) froze funding for key conservation programs, despite previously signed contracts with the government.

The freeze, part of the Trump administration’s sweeping federal review of spending programs, has left Skylar Holden, a first-generation farmer, scrambling to save his land.

Holden, who voted for President Donald Trump, had signed a $240,000 contract with the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) to improve water lines, fencing, and wells on his farm.

Homemade turkey chorizo, home smoked sharp cheddar aged one year, turned into queso dip. Homemade tortillas.

I want to be very clear that this was edible. But that's about it. The chorizo wasn't spicy enough. I probably should have only done 50% smoked cheddar and 50% regular. Some chives or other living green thing on top would have gone a long way.

I had a heck of a time with the tortillas because my burner wasn't keeping a consistent temperature. I probably need to replace the burner socket yet again. I ended up moving to a smaller burner.

Cost per person, $2.60

Whistleblower says that Tulsi Gabbard blocked agency from sharing report and delivered it to White House chief of staff

Last spring, the National Security Agency (NSA) detected evidence of an unusual phone call between an individual associated with foreign intelligence and a person close to Donald Trump, according to a whistleblower’s attorney briefed on the existence of the call.

The highly sensitive communique, which has roiled Washington over the past week, was brought to the attention of the director of national intelligence (DNI), Tulsi Gabbard – but rather than allowing NSA officials to distribute the information further, she took a paper copy of the intelligence directly to the president’s chief of staff, Susie Wiles, the attorney, Andrew Bakaj, said.

One day after meeting Wiles, Gabbard told the NSA not to publish the intelligence report. Instead, she instructed NSA officials to transmit the highly classified details directly to her office.

Details of this exchange between Gabbard and the NSA were shared directly with the Guardian and have not been previously reported. Nor has Wiles receipt of the intelligence report.

  • Keycap sizes: 1u
  • 15 designs
  • Payment: PP / CC
  • Price at start: $49

Hi u/everyone

This is a mini group buy open for only 48 hours. Shipping starts after 40 business days. The Patisserie Tales is a small, fully handmade artisan keycap series inspired by the soft nostalgia of old neighborhood bakeries, real desserts, real memories, never mass-produced. Each keycap is individually hand-cast in resin, then colored layer by layer, slowly and with intention.

For collectors who value craft and story, we’re opening a short two day mini group-buy. Once it closes, the design will not be reproduced. As a small thank you to collectors, every purchased keycap includes one random resin display plate, selected from four designs. Thoughtfully made, genuinely limited, and quietly special.-

Because nothing says "fun" quite like having to restore a RAID that just saw 140TB fail.

Western Digital this week outlined its near-term and mid-term plans to increase hard drive capacities to around 60TB and beyond with optimizations that significantly increase HDD performance for the AI and cloud era. In addition, the company outlined its longer-term vision for hard disk drives' evolution that includes a new laser technology for heat-assisted magnetic recording (HAMR), new platters with higher areal density, and HDD assemblies with up to 14 platters. As a result, WD will be able to offer drives beyond 140 TB in the 2030s.

Western Digital plans to volume produce its inaugural commercial hard drives featuring HAMR technology next year, with capacities rising from 40TB (CMR) or 44TB (SMR) in late 2026, with production ramping in 2027. These drives will use the company's proven 11-platter platform with high-density media as well as HAMR heads with edge-emitting lasers that heat iron-platinum alloy (FePt) on top of platters to its Curie temperature — the point at which its magnetic properties change — and reducing its magnetic coercivity before writing data.
