Hamsa hand & lotus Mala Necklace This 108 beaded Mala or prayer necklace is thoughtfully crafted with 6mm natural Rudraksha seeds hand knotted on pink silk. Necklace measures 36 inches long and is finished with a hamsa hand & lotus pendant. All metals used are sterling silver. You can simply Wear this Mala as jewelry, use it as decoration. Or use it as a meditation or prayer necklace. More information below The Mala The Mala necklace or Mala bead are a mantra meditation tools that has been used since the 10th century. The Mala has traditionally been used to help focus the mind on a single task, guiding one on a path of understanding and wellness through mantra meditation. As well, can be used as a simple physical reminder of one's intentions. Traditional Mala's contain 108 beads as well as a Guru bead, sometimes finished with a tassel. Using a Mala is personal, you can simply wear and keep it with you as a reminder of positive intentions. Use it as a tool in your meditation practice or as an item of beauty in your sacred space. To use a mala for mantra meditation you must first choose a mantra, a word, phrase, or intention for manifesting. Starting at the middle of your Mala, work your way to the guru bead. Chant, or say your mantra or intentions each time your finger rollers over a bead. Once at the Guru bead or summit of your mala work your way back towards were you started. I recommend choosing a quiet, comfortable place to practice Mantra meditation. Mala and Tassel care Like you, your Mala deserves to be treated with love and care. I recommend storing your Mala by hanging it somewhere safe or lay flat in a drawer/ jewelry box. Because they are made with silk, gemstones, nuts and wood they can be affected by environment as well as daily products. Avoid getting your Mala wet as well as getting creams, sunscreen on it. Over time and were your tassel may require some TLC. All you need to do is wet your fingers and gently groom the tassel from top to bottle until satisfied. Tassels as fun to touch and play with, however can be vulnerable especially were they are bound together (near top of tassel) try avoiding this area.
