I ALWAYS begin all of my borders in this way👇🏻... 🌿 Firstly, get that spade out and decide on the shape of the border you wish to dig. Of course this will be space dependent, but even in very small gardens you can be very creative. Just as these beautiful Emerald Blue creeping phlox started out as old straggly stems, we too can flourish with some proper self care. We can add our own sunshine, nourishment and water to become better versions of ourselves! As I’m getting older, I’ve been taking some time to really figure out what’s important in life and focusing on the things that matter so I don’t end up old and straggly myself! Lol Gardening fulfills two very important tasks in staying young; stress reduction and physical activity, all rolled into one! Ria - Cottage garden and flower growing on Instagram: "I’ll soon be sowing my next batch of snapdragons and I can’t wait! 🌱 I tend to wait until February because the light levels are starting to ramp up then, and also because I haven’t sorted my seed starting area inside the house yet 😆 I’m having to rethink my usual arrangement now that I have a cheeky little cat that likes to nibble seedlings! I’ve already got a good stock from an autumn sowing, but you can never have too many snaps, right?! I’m going heavy on the Madame Butterfly varieties this season as I’ve fallen in love with the huge, robust flowers that are great for cutting. I love how snapdragons work so well with other flowers, as shown at the end of this reel.
