Welcome to week 9 of the Sunday Best Quilt Sampler sew along. This week, we will be working on Sherri’s Pier 44 sampler quilt block, a pineapple block.

The challenging Pineapple variation of the Log Cabin block is created by piecing strips of fabric on the diagonal, rather than perpendicular to the center square.

The Pineapple quilt block is a variation of the Log Cabin block, but with eight “logs” or strips around a center square instead of four. There are great tools to help you sew a Pineapple quilt block!

Here's how I make a pineapple quilt block the easy way with 1 1/2 inch strips. No special ruler required, this is a great scrap buster.
