To keep them out you need strong wire with holes 1/2” or smaller, complex locks and latches, dig skirts, and to always lock any external openings to your coop and run at night! Even if your run is secure be sure to close your flock into their coop every night. Livestock guardian dogs and Hotwire would add another layer of security too! #raccoons #predatorproof #foryoureelsfb #foryoureel #reels #farmfresheggs #chickens #eggs #backyardflock #chickens #coop | Chicken Schmidt Farms Chickens Coop, Coop And Run, Livestock Guardian Dog, Livestock Guardian, Backyard Flocks, Farm Fresh Eggs, Tear Off, Chicken Farm, Schmidt

No problem! Need a chicken tractor to raise pastured meat birds? Got it! Need a coop for your egg layers that is easy to clean by simply moving it forward? Got you covered! The nesting boxes & roosting bar are easily removable so you can change things up whenever you need for your flock 🐔 CHICKEN TRACTOR BUILD PLANS are now available! Our tractor is 8ft x 10ft & fits up to around 40 chickens inside depending on if they free range during the day or stay inside full time. I've done up to 40, and as few as 13. (We use these moveable coops for egg layers AND meat birds because the roosting bars and nesting boxes are removable!) The more birds you have inside, the more you want to consider moving to fresh grass daily or even twice a day.

Using a wheel system that is always attached to the tractor makes it so much quicker + you only need to move your tractors one place forward. THIS is why I love having a mov Moveable Chicken Coop, Roosting Bars, Pastured Poultry, Small Farming, Meat Birds, Chicken Tractor, Down On The Farm, Pet Chickens, Nesting Boxes

You're still feeding them, still letting them out for the day, still cleaning nesting boxes, and still collecting eggs...and the number of chickens doesn't change the amount of time any of that takes.

Also, chickens don't lay an egg every day of the year. Most breeds lay around 150-200 eggs a year, so that's quite a lot of days without eggs if you were counting on one a day from each hen.

We have found our sweet spot to be, enough hens to lay eggs for our family to eat about 2-3 dozen a week + an extra 2-3 dozen to pay for the cos Chickens Laying First Eggs, Chicken Eating Their Eggs, What Helps Chickens Lay Eggs, Best Egg Layers Chicken Breeds, Chickens Eating Their Eggs, Pastured Poultry, Collecting Eggs, Chicken Tractor, Free Range Chickens
