Forwards Knot - to do a single knot on a friendship bracelet it is simply a double-knot. Using the left string, tie a knot around the next string, (1) pull tight, and tie a second knot (2) and pull tight. This will leave a "bump" or knot on the string (see blue string) so you can use the same left string to tie a knot on the following thread (see green). Keep repeating until the end of all threads and start again with the leftist string to give a candy stripe bracelet.

Backwards Knot - Similar to the forward knot but from right to left string. Use the right thread and do 2 knot loops, pulling tight after each one; for one bracelet knot then move onto the next thread.
