When the children spent an hour in their new class during the summer term, I asked them to design and create one small square. I then displayed them as one large class piece of artwork which was put up in their new classroom, ready for them to see on the first day of term.

Transition Day needs to be full of exciting and engaging activities with which to welcome your new class. You want to give them a taste of the year to come with you as their new teacher. No pressure then!

Support children starting school to make their own friendships with this superb activity pack.
