Osa Rosti ART on Instagram: "It’s a happy papier-macheing Sunday today! Working on some cat friends 😻. Here I work with the papier-mâché strip method: strips of newspaper glued onto an armature that I made from recycled cardboard, paper and masking tape. The glue I’m using is a natural wheat paste glue: 1 part wheat flour and 5 parts water. Mix well and bring to a boil. When a little bit thick (like a cream) remove from heat. Store in airtight container in the fridge. However, they’re just half done because I do between 5-10 layers (or more) of paper strips on each one. Usually I do half and then dry them completely and then do the other half of strips. The more layers of paper strips you put on, the harder and more durable your art piece will become. It’s a lot of work but I truly do enjoy it….but yes I do get tired 😅. Recipe for wheat paste glue: 1 cup wheat flour to 5 cups water. Mix and bring to a boil. Stir continuously so to not get lumps. Store in a container in fridge.
