The tea house, Hassōan, was originally built in Kōfukuji Temple in the mid Edo Period in the style preferred by Furuta Oribe and transferred to the Nara National Museum in 1892. Interestingly, we had just seen a mock-up of the teahouse at the huge (and  definitive) Chanoyu exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum.
