Let the Games begin

Up bright and early this morning as the Olympic Torch was due to pass the top of our road at 8.15 a.m.  So pleased I bothered - the road was crowded and there was a great carnival atmosphere, people bringing round fresh croissants and hot drinks and then the magnificent torch.

bring on the games.

A touch of the deja vue

when I saw these photos today I had to look twice as it only seems a few months since Mya started nursery (she's now in 'big' school) and today our little Gracie started nursery.....she was so excited and raring to go - fingers crossed it lasts.

Gracie is 3 - well almost

it's Gracie's 3rd birthday on Tuesday but we had her family party today.  Being Pesach she couldn't have a shop birthday cake so it fell to me to make her pesadicher cakes.....

now I need to make another one at the end of the week for Perry's birthday and no he isn't getting a snow white cake.

A gift for Nes'i

I always make my grandchildren their own shawl and have been knitting away over the past few months making one for our miracle baby.  I chose a Victorian pattern called Tree of Life and it is made in 1ply wool (I must be mad).  It measures 60" square and I am rather pleased with it.

My not so 'little' girls

my babies are growing up, Mya is 5 now and Grace will be 3 next month, so glad we'll soon have another baby to love.  Meanwhile back to my big girls, they are such good company and I love having them here.  The latest photos.....

At last some cards....

,,,,my mojo has gone awol again but I have managed to make a few cards, mainly because some important birthdays are coming soon.  It took me twice as long as normal to make these but I got there in the end...

firstly a card I was asked to make for a 60th, the front part opens to reveal a photo of the recipient.

and then a very important card - for my youngest granddaughter's 3rd birthday next month, the stamp is called Grace so I had to use it for Gracie's card.....

then it is my younger son's birthday next month, he loves to cook and he enjoys a good wine so I thought this was a good combination....

now a card for my sister-in-laws birthday......

and this one was purely because I was on a roll......

and finally two get well cards - I seem to have had a run on them lately and was getting low on stock......

now to try and track down Mr Mojo.
