Henri Hagelberg on Instagram: "How to prevent and fix cracks in textured art? 🎨

Primary reasons for cracking in my experience are either using poor quality texture paste or spreading the textures too thick in a single layer.

Although you could make your own texture paste easily (I shared a tutorial reel two days ago, you can find it from my profile), if you plan to sell your artwork, I'd recommend using a ready made texture paste intended for arts and crafts.

Different manufacturers call their texture pastes with different names, so look for terms such as texture paste, structure paste, modelling paste or molding paste. You can find my tutorial reel on the different materials I use for creating textures from the Story Highlight 'Tutorials' in my profile. (I use different products for One Color Texture Painting, Diy Plaster Art Canvas Tutorial, How To Seal Textured Art, Using Modeling Paste On Canvas, Painting Modeling Paste, Textured Canvas Art Materials, How To Use Modeling Paste On Canvas, Acrylic Molding Paste, Texture Painting For Beginners

Don’t box yourself in with the idea of how you think your art should look! Henri Hagelberg on Instagram: "Tips on creating arches 🎨 Textured arches are one of the classic textured art designs but they are also a lot trickier to create than they often look on video. 🙌 Sometimes when creating arches I get them perfect on the first go, whereas other times I need to redo them several times. One of the biggest factors I've found to influence how well they turn out is the quality of the paste I use. Having a more fluid texture paste than I use with other designs helps a lot. Either use a texture paste that is already fluid by design, or make your paste more fluid by mixing in some acrylic paint. Use a plaster comb (sometimes also known as a notched trowel) with relatively narrow teeth. Keep the tool clean, as paste gathering on the edges can cause lumps in your Plastered Canvas Art, Caulk Painting Art, How To Texture Paint On Canvas, Compound Art, Texture Art Projects, 2024 Tips, Plaster Artwork, Textural Art, Texture Painting Techniques
