The boring, flat panel interior doors were really dating our home. However, I didn't want to spend the money to replace them all. So, we decided to use plywood to give them the effect of molding. Cut 1/4" plywood into strips. You'll have to do math to determine the size that you want the boxes to be on each door. Check your math 3 times because we sure did mess it up! Secure plywood strips to a plain door and paint them white to give it some character.
You can probably bring the measurements to your local hardware store and ask them (politely) to cut the wood for you. If you want more color, you could paint the door in a base color and the trim in an accent color. Here's the tutorial.
