They should not be your primary source for flowers. YOU NEED SEVERAL LEGIT WHOLESALE SOURCES. When you walk into TJ or Costco you never know what you are going to get. It’s a crap shoot on what they are going to have and what the quality is going to be. You have no idea how long the flowers have been there and you are usually limited to about 20 varieties. Yes, I’ve heard you can ask ahead at Trader Joe’s and you can order online with Costco but what if the flowers arrive in bad condition? Then what? If you are working with a reputable wholesale the chances of the flower arriving in perfect condition are much high and also if they do arrive sub par the will work with you get them replaced ASAP! Also as mentioned when you use TJs or Costco you are so limited in what you can buy. They carry the basics but they aren’t going to carry everything you need for weddings OR all the fun unique varieties that clients want in designs. So when should use TJs or Costco? In this situation I was creating 2 bridal bouquets for a shoot. We needed several types of flowers but smaller quantities of each flower since it was for such a small order. My client was open when it came to design so I didn’t have bank of a certain variety. Perfect TJ haul! My DIY brides this could be a great option for you! Just starting out in design? This could be an option for a little while…not forever. Even if you need smaller quantities you can use by the bunch option with @flowerbuyerdotcom or @bellevueroseswholesale And of course if you have a local wholesale you can just walk in and get whatever you need. Even if it’s 2 bunches 🙌🙌 I just don’t advise florists that are being paid by customers to use these retailers in place of a wholesaler. I believe we need to be getting in the best flowers from the best supplies. ESPECIALLY for wedding work.
