അമേരിക്കയിൽ കെൻ റക്കി സംസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ ലെക്സിംഗ്സൺ പട്ടണത്തിലാണ് തോമസ്‌ ഹണ്ട് മോർഗൻ ജനിച്ചത്‌. കെൻ റക്കി സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്നും 1886-ൽ ബിരുദം നേടി. ജോൺസ് ഹോപ്പ്കിൻസ് സർവകലാശാലയിൽ നിന്നും ഡോക്ടരറ്റ്‌ നേടിയശേഷം കുറച്ചുകാലം ഇറ്റലിയിലെ നേപ്പിൾസിൽ ഗവേഷണം നടത്തി.1904-ൽ അമേരിക്കയിലെ പ്രസിദ്ധമായ കൊളംബിയ സർവകലാശാലയിൽ പ്രൊഫസ്സറായി ചേർന്നു. മോർഗൻൻറെ ഗവേഷണസപര്യയുടെ അംഗികാരമായി 1933-ൽ അദേഹത്തിനു നോബൽ സമ്മാനം ലഭിച്ചു.1945-ൽ അദ്ദേഹം നിര്യാതനായി.
