Relationship between Wikimedia and Apple.
As of December 2015, some say "most" of the Wikimedia Foundation staff use Apple computers- with Mac operating system. [1]
The Wikimedia Foundation listed "Apple Incorporated. Matching Gifts Program" as a "leading donor" ($5,000-$14,999) in 2011-12, a "patron" ($15,000-$49,999) every year from 2012-13 until 2015-16, a "major Benefactor" ($50,000+) in 2016-17,[2] and again as a "major benefactor" for gifts since in 2017-18.[3] In 2018-2019, donations from Apple's Matching Gifts program totaled $207,542.[4]
Over 40 percent of Wikimedia mobile traffic comes from users using Apple's iphone operating system and 38 percent from users using Apple's Safari browser, and 11 percent of desktop traffic does comes from users using Mac operating system X and 4 percent from Safari, as of 2019.[5] There is a Phabricator project for issues relating to Apple Safari.
