Escape from Ever After (Paper Mario meets Shrek)

The interesting thing about Indie games is that they take inspiration from famous games over the years.  Cold and Afraid was a PS1-style crime and mystery game that looks like a classic PlayStation 1 game.  A Hat in Time acts as a love letter to 3D platformers like Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario 64.  And there is also Ori and the Blind Forest, the nostalgic platform-adventure Metroidvania game that takes you into a world like no other.

And this week, a new fairy tale RPG game will soon be released known as Escape from Ever After.

Escape from Ever After is a Paper Mario-inspired RPG series starring Flynt Buckler, a peppy hero who seeks to defeat the terrifying dragon Tinder.  The large conglomerate, Ever After Inc., has taken over Flynt’s storybook and thrown Tinder into a holding cell.  It is a clever mix of Paper Mario, Shrek, and some of the Mario & Luigi series games.  The adventure begins this week as Escape from Ever After comes out Friday January 23rd.

Now Escape from Ever After is a unique concept for an Indie game.  The game looks like something out of Paper Mario, but with its own original story.  Fans will soon be delighted by the sharp, witty RPG once Escape from Ever After releases this Friday.
