Wikidata talk:Primary sources tool

Application of dates and the calendar it chooses — Julian <-> Gregorian

Could someone please confirm that where there is a date prior to 1584 that the tool chooses the Gregorian calendar, rather than the Julian calendar. If that is confirmed, then we need an edit to the code. Thanks.

Cloud VPS project to be purged

The wikidata-primary-sources-tool Cloud VPS project has not yet been claimed by anyone on the wikitech:Cloud VPS 2018 Purge page. If it is not claimed, it will be removed soon. Does anyone know the current status of the project? I could mark it as “needed” myself, but currently it doesn’t seem to be working anyways: the “primary sources” gadget makes three requests to it when I load an item page, but they all result in HTTP 502 Bad Gateway.

@Lucas Werkmeister: thanks for the heads up. I was totally unaware of that page on Wikitech, and really don't see why the project should be purged. Instead, it is ready for review since a while: I opened the following tickets a few months ago, and they haven't been addressed yet: phab:T196073, phab:T196075. @Hjfocs: there’s some more information in this email; basically, you just need to note on the page that the project/server is still in use, then it will not be purged. Error ?

I installed Primary Sources Tool but I get "Could not get Primary Sources Tool item" error. What's the problem ? Can it be fixed somehow ? Kpjas (talk) 11:57, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

This gadget throws a fatal JS error since this week: Task 352603. Until this is fixed I suggest that the gadget should be disabled because it blocks the execution of other gagdets. Raymond (talk) 16:56, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
