Motivation
editClarity and simplicity. Easy to transclude into infoboxes on other projects. Current solutions include:
- only listing the name as one of several other also-known-as values, which means
- no distinction is made between them
- sources cannot be referenced
- qualifiers cannot be added
- using name in native language (P1559): value, followed by:

Discussion
edit- Support I think it would be interesting to combine this with qualifiers to be able to track things as names "deliberately lowercase name" - Salgo60 (talk) 12:34, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support. Using name in native language (P1559) for how Harald Forss spelled his namn is erroneous in two ways: The way to correctly write Harald Forss in his native language, Swedish, is Harald Forss, as it is in all languages written in latin alphabet. Harald Forrs have made a deliberate decision not to write it according to the conventions to how his native language write names. And, is it not wrong to call the writing conventions "native language" in the first place? So a separate property, or move the other qualifiers to be used in pseudonym (P742) instead. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by LittleGun (talk • contribs) at 15:29, 2021-10-02 (UTC).

- Support From my point of view, it can also be used for companies. --Gymnicus (talk) 15:02, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- Done @Förbätterlig, Salgo60, Gymnicus, ArthurPSmith: created as stylized name (P9989). Enjoy! I chose String type because mutli-lingual is both not available now (so I didn't actually notice it had been specified), and would require translation into all languages, but the stylisation is usually done in a single string and used everywhere (e.g. there's no obvious way to translate Ke$ha into asian scripts). Apologies if I've overstepped by mistake here. --99of9 (talk) 09:24, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
