Live albums?
editIf the subject is a live album (Q209939), can this property also be used for the event where the album was recorded? For example: Fun Time (Q5508686): recorded at studio or venue (P483) Montreal International Jazz Festival (Q614639) (and perhaps point in time (P585) 1975) --DSGalaktos (talk) 11:00, 6 October 2014 (UTC)
It's been some years and I'm still not sure what to use for a recording venue of a live album (Q209939). The present property recorded at studio or venue (P483) seems to fit just fine, but what then to do about "value type recording studio (Q746369)" constraint violation? Places such as concert hall (Q1060829), theatre building (Q24354), stadium (Q483110), arena (Q641226) and even music venue (Q8719053) are obviously not studios. Shall we simply ignore the constraint? Or is there a better move?
Btw, {{Infobox album}} and similar WP templates no longer use |recorded=
for a recording place, it is now used for a recording date instead, whereas |studio=
and |venue=
are the parameters for places, the latter being the exact one for live albums. This should be at least reflected in the above documentation, which is currently not up to date. — Mike Novikoff 16:30, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- Seems to be a property constraint "recording studio" is a very poor constraint, since very many albums (not just live albums) are recorded in unusual places. Can the constraint be removed? --Mcld (talk) 18:15, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
Merge with Property:P915 "filming location"?
editI have proposed in the discussion for Property:P915 to rename it from "filming location" to "recorded at", and one other user agrees. Would it be appropriate to merge this P483 into P915? They seem to me to be the same concept, just that they're created by the music community and the film community respectively.--Mcld (talk) 18:14, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
